In recent Coronation Street episodes, Leanne Battersby ( Jane Danson ) has raised questions after having secret conversations with someone on her laptop – and tonight’s (June 7) episode finally revealed the heartbreaking truth about who was on the other side of the screen. When Toyah Battersby ( Georgia Taylor ) got up in the early hours of the morning to find Leanne telling the person on the laptop that she loved them, she grew instantly suspicious and questioned if it was Rowan Cunliffe (Emrhys Cooper). Leanne met Rowan at a meeting for The Institute several months ago, and was instantly won over by his charm.
It didn’t take long for her to join The Institute herself, much to Toyah’s horror, who could see the group for what it really was: A cult. Though Leanne vehemently denied speaking to Rowan on her laptop, Toyah was still suspicious, and soon confided what she’d seen in Nick Tilsley (Ben Price).
