Coronation Street fans think they know which mystery person Leanne Battersby was messaging on Monday night. The character was shown tearfully speaking to someone, with spoilers revealing she'd later be caught sending worrying messages to the mystery person. Leanne made her return in the latest episode, after weeks away at a retreat.
She's been reeled in by scammer Rowan Cunliffe and his 'institute' amid the ITV soaps' new cult storyline. He's shown her ways to deal with her past trauma through different methods, while it's clear to others he is using her for an unknown reason. Her family including her sister Toyah have begged Leanne to open her eyes, but she keeps lashing out at them and defending Rowan.
In the latest episode she was left upset to hear stepson Simon Barlow was leaving the street for good without her being told. Her partner Nick Tilsley had told Rowan about Simon, but he failed to pass the message on. As Leanne waved Simon off, she burst into tears and ran off.
Back at the flat, we saw her speaking with a mystery person on her laptop but we didn't see who it was. They did not respond to Leanne, who sent vocal messages to the person. She was heard telling the person that she felt alone and that she wished she could be with them.
Messages later in the week will see her confess her love for the person, with her soon caught out. Viewers think they might have worked out who the person is and what is going on with Leanne. It might not be Rowan though, amid her loved.
