UPPER PROVIDENCE — The Coalition of Italian American Organizations of Delaware County will host the 14th annual Italian American Heritage Festival, 11 a.m. to 5 p.
m. Sunday, June 2, at Rose Tree Park to celebrate Italian American heritage and culture in the Delaware Valley. Dozens of vendors, musicians, Italian food and novelty purveyors, Italian dancers, authors and more will be at the festival.
An Italian car and motorcycle exhibit, a kids’ field of fun, bocce courts and more will add to the excitement. Admission and on-site parking are free. The entertainment lineup includes Chris Ruggiero as well as the Flag Wavers of the Florentine Villages and Districts and The Singing DJs, Leonardo, Rossana, Tina and Franco.
Ruggiero takes his audiences on a journey through the golden age of rock and roll, breathing new life into the timeless music of the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s. He came to national attention in a PBS concert speical. Since then, Ruggiero has been traveling the country delivering his unique brand of vintage rock and roll and sharing his passion for the classics.
What Michael Bublé did for the swing music of the ’40s and ’50s, Ruggiero does for the pop-rock of the ’60s and ’70s. The singer’s Facebook page reached a staggering 63 million people last year. The festival consistently attracts more than 10,000 people, and organizers expect this year’s edition to be bigger and better than ever.
