Runners started the morning with white T-shirts at the Riverstone Bank Color Dash on Saturday, June 1. By the end of the race, those T-shirts were covered in a rainbow of colors. Runners were doused with different colors as they ran past nine color stations along the Color Dash’s route.
Each business that sponsored a color station threw a different color at the participants, Karen Benzel, executive director of United Way of Western Nebraska, said. “Our sponsors actually choose their colors. .

Target chooses red, we have Home Instead that chose purple. A lot of times they’ll choose the colors that are associated with their logos,” she said. Holiday Inn Express & Suites and Floyd’s Trucking, though, chose to throw every available color when participants went by their stations.
“We did two multicolor stations this year that were just kind of fun because you got a splash of a little bit of every color,” Benzel said. The fun run attracted runners and walkers of all ages including several families. Kim Ramirez ran the Color Dash for a second time, she said, because it is a great event.
“It’s a lot of fun. It’s like a party for a good cause, and you get your exercise in, too,” Ramirez said. Ramirez participated in the race with her sister, Casey McQueen, who was visiting from out of town.
McQueen, who is a remote worker without a home base, said she thought she would join her sister since she was in town. This year’s event dre.
