Chief Secretary Chan Kwok-ki today chaired the 21st meeting of the Commission on Children, at which members were given an update on the progress of the Mandated Reporter Guide, a key element of the mandatory reporting regime for suspected child abuse cases. The guide is being formulated by professional consultative panels with reference to case scenarios, as well as questions and views collected from various sectors. By facilitating mandated reporters’ early identification, reporting and intervention of child abuse cases, the guide aims to strengthen child protection.
Members were briefed by the Child Fatality Review Panel on its sixth report , and offered views on the report’s recommendations..
