A new Thai restaurant is serving red curry, pad see ew and pork dumplings across the street from popular Charleston café Huriyali. Owned by Palaset Naraphirom and Pavinee Wangnai, Mango Tree Thai Cafe is now open in the 396 Huger St. space previously occupied by The Rib Guy.

Before opening this spring, the restaurant was upgraded inside, where velvet red banquettes border teal walls. A small street-facing patio, now decked out with AstroTurf, can accommodate about a dozen diners. The menu offers an array of Thai favorites, including pad Thai and som tam .

There is also a section for “Bangkok street food” that features five dishes paired with ginger rice. Story continues below The outdoor patio of Mango Tree Thai Cafe. A sign outside of the Huger Street establishment.
