The monarch traditionally spends his summers in Scotland and invites members of the Royal Family to join him.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have previously visited Balmoral once before stepping down as senior working royals. Royal author Tom Quinn suggests that while Charles will extend the customary invitation, he believes the couple will be reluctant to make the journey. Speaking to the Mirror , he said: "King Charles will issue the traditional invitation to Harry and Meghan to spend part of the summer at Balmoral, but safe in the knowledge that Harry and Meghan will make their excuses and decline.
" Quinn further suggested that the tranquil setting of the 50,000-acre private estate could provide an ideal opportunity for reconciliation, but Camilla may be apprehensive about anything that could disrupt her husband's peaceful recovery from cancer.
