Van Wey After graduating from Postville High School in 1957, Chuck entered the workforce and a few years later honorably served in the United States Army for five and a half years before returning home. His life took a beautiful turn when he met his soulmate, Sharon Hendrickson, and on January 7, 1967, they exchanged vows at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mason City, IA. Following their union Chuck and Shari lived in various places before settling down in Albert Lea; building a life together, raising their two sons, Scott and Brian, with love and dedication.
After a brief stint at Queens in Albert Lea, he was asked to develop and teach a second year drafting program at Riverland College. His passion for education led him to return to school himself, where he pursued a Bachelor’s degree at Mankato State University, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 1979. He later took on a position as Administrator of Adult Education and retired in 1994.
Chuck’s influence extended beyond the classroom, with his role as a devoted member of Grace Lutheran Church and was an active member of the church council. In his leisure time, Chuck found solace in n.
