Queensland weatherman Garry Youngberry was delivering the forecast for Wednesday night's State of Origin decider in Brisbane when a meteor lit up the sky behind him. Dressed warmly in an all-maroon outfit, Youngberry warned Origin fans heading to Brisbane 's Suncorp stadium to rug-up to protect themselves against the unusually bracing 8C wind chill factor.

Seconds into his forecast, the shooting star was seen falling from the sky. Nine later shared a video of the spectacular moment online after was spotted in the newsroom. It was also spotted by eagled-eyed viewers during the broadcast.
