FANS of the Boston Celtics are having the time of their lives right now. They saw their team going 2-0 ahead in the NBA Finals with another victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday night. And they enjoyed taunting Kyle Irving following his comments after Game 1.
Irving told reporters that he expected the crowd at TD Garden to be louder than it was. The Celtics responded to that in defiant fashion, displaying that quote alongside an image of Irving's face on the Jumbotron just before the start of Sunday's game. As you can imagine, that helped to pump up the volume.
And fans on X, the site formerly known as Twitter, have had their say too. "Can't believe they really went 'Kyrie said what?' mode on the Jumbotron. The pettiness levels are off the charts," one said.
That's awesome! Kyrie always knows how to get the crowd going. Love seeing the Celtics firing up the home fans like that!" another fan wrote. "Anything you can do to get ahead, I like it," was the comment from another poster.
"Go Celtics! Let's keep the Mavs on the back foot," a fourth fan said. Dallas are under huge pressure now after slipping 2-0 behind in the best-of-seven series. Jrue Holiday top scored for the Celtics with 26 points.
Boston battled to a 105-98 to take a decisive advantage in the series. Team-mate Jayson Tatum registered 18 points, 12 assists and nine rebounds. Luka Doncic contributed 32 points along with 11 assists and 11 rebounds in a triple double for the Mavericks.
