The Cayuga Museum will host a cornhusk doll-making workshop beginning at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 29.

The museum's downtown Auburn location, at 144 Genesee St., Suite 100, will welcome Kristin Asche from the Ganondagan State Historic Site to lead the workshop. She will talk about the importance of corn to the Seneca people and its many uses, and bring several examples of cornhusk items.

Asche will also share the story of the no-face cornhusk doll, and participants will build their own. The one-hour workshop is part of the museum's Creative Explorers series for children. Admission is free and open to the public, but reservations are required as capacity and materials are limited.

Reservations are for children only, and only they will be provided with materials to make the dolls, but adults are welcome. The workshop is ideal for ages 5 to 12, the museum said. For more information, visit cayugamuseum.
