Wimbledon men's singles champion Carlos Alcaraz has responded to rumours linking him to British tennis star Emma Raducanu after she attended his final win over Novak Djokovic. Raducanu, who was knocked out in the fourth round of this year's ladies' singles competition, was in the stands at Centre Court on Sunday as she watched the Spaniard claim back-to-back titles at SW19 by beating Djokovic in straight sets. Of course, many assumed the 21-year-old to be there simply as a tennis fan but her presence prompted some people to wildly speculate that the two tennis aces may in fact be an item.

Asked for his thoughts on why the British star came to watch him, he replied: "I don’t know, I don’t know. I think a lot of people came to see the final.

"I think Novak and I always put on a good game, a show on the court. I think it is a beautiful game to watch. And she is from here, so I imagine that she wanted to come and see it.
