A fatal single-car crash occurred in Killeen during the early morning hours on Saturday. At approximately 3:57 a.m.

the Killeen Police Department was dispatched to the 5600 block of East Central Texas Expressway after reports of a single-vehicle crash. A preliminary investigation revealed that a red Pontiac sedan veered off the roadway while traveling at high speeds. It rolled several times before finally coming to a stop.

The driver of the vehicle did not survive the accident, according to a news release from KPD spokeswoman Ofelia Miramontez. Justice of the Peace Gregory Johnson pronounced the estimated time of death at 4:05 a.m.

The name of the driver has been withheld until the next of kin is notified. As of 10 a.m.
