California Forever released renderings Tuesday morning of its latest community benefit hoping to attract voters this November: A seven-acre, man-made lagoon with crystal blue water located just outside the proposed new community and available to all Solano County residents. The lagoon, which would be built by construction firm Crystal Lagoons, is expected to use 25 times less water than a standard 18-hole golf course in Solano County, a release from California Forever claims. “We continuously hear from Solano families that they have to trek long distances and sit in traffic jams just to get to the coastal beaches where their kids can cool off and have some fun,” the release reads.

“Family trips to the beach should be idyllic, relaxing, and fun, not wasted on the road in bumper-to-bumper traffic.” California Forever is adamant that the lagoon will only be built if the East Solano Plan is passed in November. “Building the Solano Lagoon is expensive and would require tens of millions of dollars of investments,” the release reads.
