It’s a Minions world, and we’re just living in it — and now they’ve even taking over the world of K-Pop. In celebration of the release of Despicable Me 4 , Illumination is teaming up with global pop icons, BTS to come together for quite possibly their cutest collab to date (sorry, BT21).
Funko is releasing an exclusive, collectible seven-pack figurine set , and all the BTS members have all gotten the Minions treatment. This limited-edition set features Pop! versions of Minions dressed as RM, Jin, SUGA, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook. And while they’re not sporting those iconic overalls, the BTS Minions come decked out in outfits inspired by the group’s 2021 hit single “Permission to Dance” .
The collectible set retails for $99 , and is inspired by a new character from the upcoming Despicable Me 4 film, Poppy Prescott, who identifies as a member of BTS ARMY. Fans were quick to spot that she is seen in one of the trailers practicing a dance on a DDR-like machine with BTS’ “Butter” poster in the background . The Funko Pop! figures will be available for pre-order at Entertainment Earth starting June 21, and is part of a larger capsule collection between Illumination, Universal and BTS’ label Big Hit, which includes more limited-edition apparel and accessories priced from $30-$60.
This capsule will also be available .
