Bruno Tonioli had just three words to say when he was asked about beating Alan Carr to become Britain's Got Talent 's new judge last year. The Strictly Come Dancing star, 68, replaced David Walliams , 52, who quit the ITV show after questionable comments he made about the series' contestants were leaked. Chatty Man, Alan, 48, was said to be a shoo-in for the coveted role on BGT, however, when it was announced that Bruno had bagged the gig, the Italian was philosophical.
Speaking about beating Alan to the role, he said: "That's show business". When asked about being chosen over Chatty Man host at the last minute, Bruno added it would "not at all" be awkward if he bumped into Alan again. He said: "I haven’t had a clue about his negotiations.
I love Alan and I know him, he is a very nice guy. I didn’t know the situation with him, nothing was announced, and that’s show business. This was down to ITV," he told the Daily Mail .
Bruno joined the BGT family at the start of last year, but it looks as if the dancer's time on the show could be over - with Alan rumoured to be replacing him on the panel. The Italian has been on the panel alongside Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon for two series so far. But it's been reported that his time on the show, which wrapped up its 17th series over the weekend, could be coming to an end sooner than planned thanks to his busy schedule across the globe.
