The latest and weirdest Elden Ring build now consists of two-handing shields, mindlessly spamming the attack button, and giving the expansion’s hardest bosses a run for their money. Elden Ring has a few duel shields, though the Carian Thrusting Shield is the most powerful of the bunch. This is a new item introduced in , and you’re going to find it in the Shadow Keep on a corpse past a few Fire Knights.

With this item equipped, and all the necessary upgrades and damage affinities applied, turns into a pretty formidable – and broken – weapon. The new Dueling Shield weapons pretty much invalidate every fight in Elden Ring if you build it correctly. Its basically shield poking on crack because its the damage of a two handed weapon that also benefits from the Two-Handed Sword Talisman Scott Jund, who brought this build to attention, notes that it can “invalidate every fight” with the right adjustments made.

The most important thing needed is plenty of Stamina and Poise, and after that you can just stand in front of attacking enemies who will damage themselves on its spikes. Pair it with the Greatshield Talisman, and the weapon becomes even more threatening, though the Two Handed Talisman is probably even more important here – dealing a significant buff to weapons that are being two handed.
