An express bus route connecting two sides of the city has been unveiled. The new limited-stop 1X route is set to take to the streets soon. Brighton and Hove Buses' flagship 1A route - one of the busiest in the city - will be upgraded to become the new express route while the existing 1 route will remain.

Portslade and Churchill Square will now only be four stops apart under the new service which will run every 15 minutes. The express stops will be marked with bright pink poles Full list of 1X stops: Westbound : Brighton Marina, Arundel Road, Royal Sussex County Hospital, Law Courts, Old Steine, North Street, Churchill Square, Palmeira Square, George Street, Boundary Road, Portslade Station, Portslade Town Hall, Battle of Trafalgar, Southern Cross, Old Village, Mile Oak Gardens, Brasslands Drive, Edgehill Way, The Rise, Hole in the Wall, Community Centre, Graham Avenue Shops. Eastbound: Graham Avenue shops, Hole in the Wall, The Rise, Brasslands Drive, Mile Oak Gardens, Old Village, Southern Cross, Battle of Trafalgar, Portslade Town Hall, Portslade Station, Boundary Road, Richardson Road, George Street, Palmeira Square, Churchill Square, North Street, Law Courts, Royal Sussex County Hospital, Roedean Road and Marina Cinema.
