Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington Of course, the main focus of season three is on Colin Bridgerton (played by Luke Newton) and his friendship-turned-romance with Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan). She had spent most of the first four episodes looking for a husband with Lord Debling (Sam Phillips) looking like he could be a match but this wasn’t to be.
After leaving a party, Colin stopped Penelope’s carriage and confessed his true feelings for her, leading to a very steamy and unexpected scene. And as the carriage stopped outside the Bridgerton household, he asked her to marry him, leaving the show on an almighty cliffhanger.
