Ottawa Police file photo Photo by Tony Caldwell / Postmedia Article content Ottawa Police say an 11-year-old boy drowned in the Carp River on Sunday evening. Police say the boy was with a friend at the Carp River Conservation Area and he entered the water around 7 p.m.

The friend called 911, and a person from the nearby walking trails jumped into the water to help the boy. Police say Ottawa firefighters found the boy in the water and performed CPR and other life-saving measures. Paramedics continued to attempt to revive the boy and transported him to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
