Joey Essex is ready to find his match on Love Island as he explained he was craving for someone to look beyond his public persona. The TOWIE legend entered the Mallorca villa as presenter Maya Jama was back at the helm of the popular ITV2 series for its eleventh season. After welcoming and coupling up the twelve Islanders, the host introduced her first celebrity bombshell while the 33-year-old made his first steps into the program, leaving his co-stars astounded.
Joey's arrival in the villa came as a shock for many viewers but for the Dancing On Ice star, his stint made sense as he confessed he was craving for his single days to end. "I just want someone to like me for me and no from what they see on TV", Joey said, "this is exactly why I’m going into the villa because you’re disconnected from the rest of the world and can focus on what actually matters on a far deeper level." Joey then admitted he was "extremely single", after splitting from Vanessa Bauer: "I’m extremely single right now, so I’m praying that I’m going to walk out of the villa hand in hand with the love of my life, that’s my main aim and all I care about.
" He then added to The Sun : "It’s difficult for me to meet girls on the outside as they judge me based on a persona so I think this experience will allow for people to see the real me." The celebrity's trip to the Love Island villa had also been well-planned and kept under wraps successfully until the last minutes as Joey took drastic measures .
