A mum has been left feeling ‘heartbroken’ after her son was involved in an accident on Friday evening – with the case now closed by police officers. Levi Hilton said she is ‘scared’ to let her eight-year-old son, Denis, play out now after he was hit by a car on Friday, May 17, at around 7pm on Thicketford Road. Denis was out with his friends and crossing the road when he was hit by what he recalls as a ‘silver or grey car’ and has been left with injuries.
The eight-year-old was taken to hospital where he had a brain scan and has been left feeling traumatised by the incident. Levi said she is upset that the driver who hit him didn’t wait with him for the emergency services to arrive and didn’t take him home. She said: “My eight-year-old son Denis Hilton was crossing the road at Thicketford Road near Family Shopper when he got hit by a car and the driver drove off.
“Denis was unconscious in the road with head injuries, back and groin injuries, he has lumps on his head, his ear is all black and grazed and his back and groin are grazed, bruised and he’s in pain. “He’s had to have a brain scan at the hospital, he had no broken bones and is stable. “I have spoken to the police they have closed the case because they said Denis walked out in front of the car.
