Blake Shelton is living vicariously through Kelsea Ballerini . Shelton left The Voice in 2023 after 23 seasons, where he was known for his bromance and rivalry with Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine . It was also recently announced that Levine will be returning to The Voice for season 27 as coach, and will be joined by Kelsea Ballerini, Michael Bublé, and John Legend .

"I feel very strongly I'm going to have to really fight Adam Levine," Ballerini joked in a recent interview with People when asked about her biggest competition. "I know it's a big deal that he's coming back but yeah — I feel like we're going to be frenemies.
Just kidding. However, I've gotten some pep talks from Blake about how to take him down!" she added. Ballerini is also determined to make the most out of her time as a coach on The Voice.
"I'm so excited. I'm excited because it's just such a new adventure. I've gotten to be on set in different capacities over the years, but to really assume that role as a coach — it's really going to stretch me and it's going to be a new opportunity," she said of her debut.
She also talked about why she chose to join the hit singing competition show at this point in her career, and what her approach to the role will be. "I.
