Meyra Brasserie is holding a soft launch throughout this week before a grand opening on Saturday night to celebrate the transformation. The venue will be serving a fusion of dishes from different cuisines along with cocktails and live music. Can Ozer, manager at the brasserie, says the "soul and spirit" of Billericay was a key factor in joining the High Street.

He said: “We have been in Essex for 14 years now and have different restaurants and bars all over the county. “We decided to come here because we really liked the soul and spirit of Billericay and we felt the area needed a venue like this. We are so excited to finally open and welcome customers.

“The town is beautiful and the people are amazing. We’re not here only to open a restaurant and make money, we are here because we are in love with the area and we can see the potential the town has.” The restaurant is replacing the Prezzo which closed in 2022 amid a series of chain closures across the country.

Excitement has already started to build among the community, with many already reserving tables for the restaurant on its first night in town. “We have had good responses so far. People have been popping in all day asking us if we’re running and telling us they have been waiting for the place to open," Can added.

“There is no venue like ours in the area. We not only have amazing food, but we have a nice cocktail bar and will be having live music on the weekends as well. “We have already had people book .
