Born Betty Lee Whitfield on April 2, 1933, in Greenville, Betty lived a full and vibrant life, marked by her dedication to family, career, and community service. Betty graduated from Greenville High School, where she formed lifelong friendships and developed a love for her hometown.
After high school, she moved to Oroville, California, where she continued to build a life filled with purpose and joy. In 1950, she married her high school sweetheart, Arlen Grover Taresh, and they enjoyed a beautiful marriage until Arlen’s passing in 1991. Together, they shared countless cherished memories and a deep bond of love and companionship.
Professionally, Betty had a long tenure in the banking industry with several local institutions. In 1958 Betty started her financial carrier with Bank of America holding several positions including Bookkeeper, Teller, Vault Teller, Merchant Teller, General ledger, collections and retired in 1989 as the Personal Upscale Banker, where she was known for her exceptional work ethic, kindness, and integrity. In addition to her tenure at Bank of America, Betty worked at North State Bank, Tri Counties Bank and Northern California National Bank where she offered her valuable experience until she finally retired in 2008.
