The line-up for this year’s BBC Radio 2 in the Park festival has been announced - and the event is set to feature big performances from the likes of Sting, Sugababes, Manic Street Preachers and Pet Shop Boys. Taking place at Preston’s Moor Park on Saturday 7 and Sunday, September 8, the festival has become a big hit with thousands of festival-goers each year given the chance to watch some of the most loved music artists. Last year’s festival, which took place in Leicester, was headlined by Kylie Minogue and Tears for Fears.

Announcing the line-up of the Lancashire festival on the Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on Radio 2 this morning, this year’s event in Preston will be headlined by Sting and his new power rock trio, including long-time collaborator Dominic Miller and drummer Chris Maas. The trio will bring surprise rarities and The Police classics to the stage on Saturday night (September 7). Made up of Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe, the duo recently released their 15th studio album Nonetheless. They will also be bringing their Dreamworld: Greatest Hits show to Co-op Live this Sunday. The festival’s line-up also includes Manic Street Preachers, Snow Patrol, Craig David, Kim Wilde and Travis.
