Watts, played by actress Tracey-Ann Oberman will return in the role this autumn for a short stint on the soap, after only spending a year-and-a-half in Albert Square in her first appearance. The character ended up imprisoned for the murder of her husband, Den, and buried him under the Queen Vic barrel store, with the help of Sam Mitchell and Zoe Slater. Watts lived for months under false pretences after the incident, with Den’s adoptive daughter, Sharon Watts, and his son Dennis Rickman.

It’s been almost twenty years since she last appeared on #EastEnders , but the infamous Chrissie Watts is on her way back to our screens later this autumn as @TracyAnnO reprises the role for a short stint. For more info head here! ➡️ https://t.co/sAQrxokuZg @BBCOne @BBCiPlayer pic.

The BBC has not yet said why the EastEnders character will be returning to the square this year. But actress Oberman did share: "Chrissie Watts was such a great character to play – a victim or a villain. (function (d, s, n) { var js, fjs = d.
