A long-running Call the Midwife cast member has now been spotted filming scenes for the next series, following concern among fans that they had left the period drama. Helen George , 40, has played character Trixie Franklin on the BBC show since it debuted in 2012. Some viewers feared that she had been written out of the show following a scene in the most recent series, which aired earlier this year.
She's however been seen working on the next series, which is due to launch next year, alongside colleagues recently. It was announced earlier this month that filming had begun, after filming for this year's Christmas special had ended. The actor was photographed on location for Call the Midwife amid the production.
Helen was spotted wearing two different outfits whilst on set for the show. Some photos showed her leaving a building in a nurses uniform. Helen - who's among the few remaining original cast members on the show - was also seen sporting biege shirt and green skirt, which is believed to have been part of her wardrobe for the role.
The upcoming series is expected to take place in the 1970s, moving the show into a new decade. There had been concern that Helen had left the acclaimed show following series 13's finale , which aired in March. The episode saw Trixie hint that she would be leaving Poplar to reunite with her husband Matthew Aylward (played by Olly Rix), who had moved to New York for work, in the US .
