The Haverford School’s baseball season ended in heartbreaking fashion with a 2-1 loss to Perkiomen Valley Thursday afternoon Hunter Petrich delivered the walk-off hit in the bottom of the seventh inning to send the Vikings to the championship game of the PAISSA tournament. The Fords (19-10-1) rallied with two outs in the top of the seventh, as Thomas Lawler singled and scored the tying run on Pat White’s triple. Kevin Reavey gave Haverford six strong innings on the mound.
He allowed a run on two hits, striking out nine. Jaidyn Rivera collected two of Haverford’s four hits. In the District 1 Class A final: Faith Christian 11, Delco Christian 4 >> The Knights couldn’t make enough contact against Faith Christian starter Reid Miller, who struck out 13.
