Baby Reindeer star Jessica Gunning says she has not watched interviews with the alleged stalker her character is based on out of loyalty to the show’s creator. The hit series portrays what writer and star Richard Gadd insists is inspired by his real-life experiences with an obsessed woman, called Martha Scott. It caused huge controversy after the “real Martha”, who we are not naming, was interviewed on TV by Piers Morgan and slammed the series.
She said the allegations are all false and the producers failed to contact her before they aired it on Netflix . But Jessica says she stands by Richard, 35, who plays Donny. She explains: “I think he was incredibly brave to bare all.
He really did put everything in that show, warts and all, errors, mistakes that were made. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything quite like it. I’m always fiercely protective of him and I want to make sure that none of this is upsetting for him, really, so I try and keep out of any of that stuff.
” Jessica, 38, said Richard’s wellbeing was her primary concern.
