Monday, July 15, 2024 Azorra has successfully closed a US$450 million financing facility with the Brazilian Development Bank. Following an initial $150 million facility secured in December 2023, the lessor has now closed on the remaining $300 million. This significant financial milestone underscores Azorra’s robust partnership with BNDES and its commitment to expanding its fleet capabilities.
The facility is designated for debt financing Azorra’s Embraer E2 orderbook and is structured to support the financing of up to 15 aircraft. Leveraging this facility, Azorra has already facilitated new aircraft deliveries to prominent airlines such as Royal Jordanian, Azul, and Scoot. This strategic move not only enhances Azorra’s operational capacity but also reinforces its position in the competitive aviation leasing market, enabling it to meet the growing demands of its clientele efficiently.
Claudia Ziemer, Azorra’s SVP of Finance, says “The financial backing of BNDES has been instrumental as we support airlines globally with their fleet modernization efforts. Our second tranche of $300 million in financing will help us continue this momentum and expand our footprint.”.
