After the success of its first handheld, Asus has brought out the new and improved Asus ROG Ally X which is even better than the already phenomenal original. The Asus ROG Ally X has finally been unveiled at Computex 2024 and with Mirror Gaming here on the ground at the computer expo, we've been able to get hands-on with the brand-new handheld to see if the changes make it worth picking up. The Asus ROG Ally X reveal stream showcased the new and improved all-in-one gaming handheld, which features a bigger battery, larger SSD and black chassis among a range of other differences to improve the device.
We already have an Asus ROG Ally X release date which is confirmed for July 22, 2024 and the device will retail at £799 / $799 / AU$1599 , higher than the release price for the original which came in at £699 / $699 / AU$1299 . The original Asus ROG Ally, however, has since been discounted in preparation for the release of the new model. When reviewing the Asus ROG Ally last year it picked up a perfect 5-star score .
I found minimal issues with the device when using it and genuinely thought there was little that could be improved, with just a couple niggles here and there.
