With a new mural project set to start on June 10, artist Shane Grammer is expected to return to Yuba City to create a new piece of public art in time for the upcoming Summer Stroll. According to officials with Yuba Sutter Arts & Culture, Grammer will paint a new mural on the north side of the Creative Interiors building, which faces the alleyway. Creative Interiors is located at 654 Plumas St.

in Yuba City. Tiffani Heryford, who owns Creative Interiors, approved a mural concept that will feature a “magnificent female portrait” and an “impressionistic array of flowers surrounding her face,” officials said. The mural will be about two stories high and about 600-square-feet in size.

Grammer is slated to finish the mural on June 15. “Together, we will embark on a project to create a beautiful mural for the community,” Grammer said in a statement. “This collaboration not only allows me to bring my artistic vision to life but also strengthens my ties with Yuba City and reinforces the importance of public art.

It's through these partnerships and friendships that I find inspiration and motivation to continue creating and sharing my art with the world.” Grammer previously participated in Yuba Sutter Rotary Night Club’s Mural Marathon in April, which resulted in the creation of five large-scale murals on the Church Street side of the Sutter Theater Center for the Arts. His mural titled “Embracing Unity: Women at the Heart of Humanity,” which won the Judge’s Choi.
