AMD has brought back its Anti-Lag technology which is now upgraded and known as AMD Radeon Anti-Lag 2. The Anti-Lag 2, as the name suggests, is basically tasked with ensuring that the gameplay remains as smooth and responsive as possible so that players can engage in titles, especially multiplayer games, without experiencing lag. Counter-Strike 2 is the first game which is using the Anti-Lag 2.
Instead of being an in-driver technology like its predecessor, the Anti-Lag 2 is a game-integrated technology that AMD has developed in close association with Valve. A Counter-Strike 2 update and a technical preview of AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition driver update are now available, which will enable the AMD Anti-Lag 2 in the game. Anti-Lag+: only support RX 7000+ Anti-Lag 2: RX 5000+,Ryzen 6000+ — HXL (@9550pro) AMD had introduced its Anti-Lag feature back in 2019, and released its improvement Anti-Lag+ last year, but when players began to experience issues with it, such as receiving bans in CS2 and Call of Duty, AMD recalled its Anti-Lag+ feature.
Back in February, AMD said that Anti-Lag+ would be back, and it now is, but will be known as Anti-Lag 2, which does signify a fresh start for the feature. Essentially, the Radeon Anti-Lag technology is meant to sync the pace of the CPU with the GPU, in order to reduce CPU workload queue. This effectively decreases input-to-display response times, making games more responsive.
The Anti-Lag feature is already available in AMD Software: Adre.
