Spain's royal family gathered in the capital of Madrid on Wednesday to mark 10 years since King Felipe VI of Spain was proclaimed as monarch. The royal family kicked off celebrations by attending the solemn release of the royal guard at the Palacio de Oriente (the Royal Palace). The King then delivered a speech to gathered royals and key Spanish figures. His Majesty looked smart in a navy suit and purple tie that paired well with youngest daughter Infanta Sofia's outfit, while his wife and heir opted for more colourful ensembles.
Felipe ascended the Spanish throne at the stroke of midnight on June 19, 2014, following his father King Juan Carlos' abdication after a string of scandals.
