Wednesday, May 29, 2024 Air India has partnered with iCoupon, a digital vouchering solutions provider, to introduce digital refreshment vouchers for passengers. This initiative, aimed at assisting travelers during unintended flight disruptions, is part of a pilot scheme launched for passengers traveling to and from three major UK airports: London Heathrow, London Gatwick, and Birmingham. Impact on Tourists and Travelers Seamless Compensation: The use of iCoupon technology allows Air India to issue digital vouchers automatically linked to passengers’ boarding passes.

During flight delays exceeding two hours, passengers can redeem these vouchers at participating retail outlets within the airport, providing a smoother and less stressful experience. This system eliminates the need for paper vouchers and long queues, streamlining the process of obtaining refreshments. Real-time Notifications: Passengers will be informed about their digital vouchers via SMS and email, receiving guidance on how and where to use them.

This proactive approach ensures that travelers are well-informed and can efficiently utilize their vouchers without added inconvenience. Enhancing Customer Experience: Commitment to Passenger Satisfaction: Rajesh Dogra, Chief Customer Experience Officer at Air India, emphasized that this collaboration with iCoupon is a first for an Indian airline. He noted that the partnership aligns with Air India’s commitment to prioritize passenger satisfaction and convenience.
