Tuesday, July 9, 2024 Air India and Japanese carrier All Nippon Airways (ANA) have signed a significant codeshare agreement May 2024 marking a new chapter in air travel connectivity between India and Japan. This strategic partnership between Air India and ANA is set to provide a host of benefits to passengers, including enhanced travel options and seamless connectivity across both airlines’ networks. Starting from May 23, 2024, this new aviation industry commercial partnership will enable customers of both Air India and ANA to enjoy a broader selection of flights between the two countries.
The codeshare agreement is designed to simplify travel arrangements, allowing passengers to fly to their desired destinations with a single ticket that combines flights operated by both airlines. The agreement will officially be available for booking from April 23, 2024. Under this arrangement, Air India will add its ‘AI’ designator code to ANA’s flights between Tokyo Haneda and Delhi, as well as Tokyo Narita and Mumbai.
Conversely, ANA will add its ‘NH’ designator code to Air India’s flight between Tokyo Narita and Delhi. This integration of services is expected to significantly enhance the convenience and travel options for passengers flying between these major hubs.
