Ahtisa Manalo. Image: Instagram/@ahtisa Despite not winning Miss Universe Philippines 2024, Ahtisa Manalo ’s campaign for a national title was nevertheless successful after she was named Miss Cosmo Philippines 2024. However, many pageant fans were disappointed with how her pageant comeback had turned out.
The Quezon Province native was the heavy favorite to win Miss Universe Philippines, considering her first runner-up finish at the Miss International 2018, and how she went against Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray at the national pageant. She eventually settled for a second runner-up and Miss Cosmo Philippines 2024 finish. But destiny had other plans as Chelsea Manalo of Bulacan was picked as the eventual titleholder.
On the other hand, Iloilo’s Alexie Brooks was chosen as Miss Eco International Philippines, Baguio’s Tarah Valencia as Miss Supranational Philippines, and Pampanga’s Cyrille Payumo as Miss Charm Philippines. This didn’t sit well with some fans who expressed dismay on social media over the “downgrade” of Manalo’s title, knowing she was already a runner-up at a prestigious global tilt. no crown for stacey considering she’s the 1st runner-up and the downgrade of ahtisa being the miss cosmo international 😧 #MissUniversePhilippines2024 pic.
