A tribute was paid to devoted mother, Alison Clark at the opening of an inquest into her death on the A63 at North Ferriby. Her Peugeot was hit by a stolen BMW being driven on the wrong side of the dual carriageway, as she returned home from swimming practice at Hessle . The three men in the BMW - Sam Connors, 19, William Harty, 20 and Lawrence James, 21 - also died.

The 42-year-old mother of daughter Emily was described as kind and loving and left "an immeasurable loss" in her family's life. Her husband, Robert Clark said in a statement read by close family friend, Geoff Ogden she was "a beautiful wife" who touched many people who had shared the devastating loss. Her husband said it was a role into which she "put her heart and soul." Alison had earlier set up the Good Grief Walking Club after the loss of her father. Earlier on November 22, 2021 she had gone on a walk with members.

She was also a keen supporter of St Mary's Church in the village and gave readings in the church. She was "fit and healthy" and enjoyed taking part in triathlon events. Robert said he had received many messages from people followi.
