The Nevada County Fairgrounds held its inaugural Red, White and Country Music Festival this weekend, and thanks in part to some lower temperatures from last week’s heat wave, the event was deemed a success. Andrew Trygg, Chief Executive Officer of Nevada County Fairgrounds, said the event was well attended and went off without a hitch. “It was a great weekend,” Trygg said.

“We really enjoyed seeing everybody come out. We had four amazingly talented bands and line dance instructors.” Much of Nevada County was blanketed in cloud cover, which didn’t dissuade people from showing up and kicking their boots up to the sounds of Township, North Forty, Serena Karise Band, and Buck Ford.

DJ Christine provided music between sets. “The weather was good,” added Trygg. “We had a quick rain cell move through, prior to people coming through.

..a little bit of clouds.

It was a warm day but didn’t slow anybody down. It was fun to see people out.” Trygg did say that a few vendors had to scatter out of the brief rain, but otherwise folks seemed to be grateful for the family friendly experience.

Ticket sales have encouraged the Fairgrounds—who self-promoted the event—to make Red, White and Country Music Festival an annual tradition. “Attendance was great, especially for a first year event,” Trygg said. “It met what we were hoping for and hopefully grow in the future.

” He added that dates have already been set for the next Red, White and Country, and will be announ.
