There’s nothing like getting out in the fresh air for a nice walk and if you’re looking forward to changing up your usual walk, look no further. Bolton and its surrounding areas have plenty to offer when it comes to walking routes. To help you decide your next route, we’ve rounded up some of the best circular walks in and around Bolton, according to AllTrails.

All walking routes here have at least a 4-star rating on the AllTrails website. Rivington Hall and Rivington Pike Circular This walk is 3.5km in length and will take around one hour and 22 minutes on average to complete.

As you head to Brere’s Meadow, up to Rivington Pike and back to the start via Rivington Gardens, you’re bound to encounter some “lovely views and scenic paths”. You should take care on the rougher and steeper sections of this walk, especially when conditions are wetter.

You’ll need suitable footwear for the walk. Find out more about the walking route and fishing requirements via the AllTrails website. Turton and Entwistle Reservoir Circular A slightly longer walk at 4km, this route is an easy one and thought to take an average of 49 minutes to complete.

This trail is family-friendly and you’ll walk around the edge of the reservoir. Keep an eye out for local wildlife or look forward to a picnic on one of the benches..
