The next generation of MLB stars got their introduction to the league Sunday. The first round of the 2024 MLB Draft began Sunday in Texas ahead of the 2024 MLB All-Star Game festivities. The Cleveland Guardians own the first pick, which is the first time in franchise history that it has held the top pick.

College hitters dominated the prospect rankings heading into the night, but plenty of talent exists to fill any holes that exist within the selecting organizations. Here's a look at who has been selected so far. Bazzana was the crown jewel of the draft and could reach the MLB level in short fashion.

419/.544/.875 for Florida in 2024 and also was a pitcher for the Gators.

He was marketed as a two-way player, but may end up just being a hitter at the pro level. The Kansas City Royals are selecting Jac Caglianone with the sixth pick in the MLB Draft. He was announced as a two-way player, but the expectation is he's going to be a hitter only.

And he's a very good one. Sunday saw the first two rounds occur, but the bulk of the draft will continue on Monday and Tuesday. Rounds 3-10 are set to take place on Monday while rounds 11-20 will occur on Tuesday .
