A 19-year-old man from Massachusetts died Saturday near Colchuck Lake, a popular hiking destination in the Cascades, according to the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office. Dispatchers received a text-to-911 message on June 22 shortly after 3:30 p.m.
reporting an unconscious man lying near Colchuck Lake in Chelan County, a news release states. According to the sheriff’s office, someone performed 45 minutes of CPR on the man, but could not revive him. A helicopter took personnel to the scene and the body was taken to the Chelan County Coroner’s Office.
