World No Tobacco Day 2024: Second-hand smoking or passive smoking is a situation where a non-smoker indirectly inhales the smoke caused by cigarettes. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), about 276 million adults who are above the age of 15 years and over in India consume tobacco. The most common form of tobacco use in India is smokeless and commonly used products are khaini, gutkha, betel quid with tobacco and zarda. In such a situation it becomes quite difficult to safeguard children from second-hand smoke.
