Kyleigh Brown, 37, whose address was given as Glenfield Close in Crumlin, appeared before Lisburn Magistrates Court on Thursday, June 20, charged with theft. The court heard that on November 4, 2022, police were tasked to a report of theft at Eurospar in Glenavy. Officers spoke with the store manager who reported that a female, who was known to the staff, had entered the store, had filled a trolley with groceries, and had left without paying. Police called to the house of the defendant, who matched the description of the woman seen in the store on CCTV. They carried out a search of her property and a number of items believed to have been stolen from Eurospar were found in her kitchen.

"She doesn’t have any family. She’s a woman who suffers from addiction to diazepam and fentanyl. She has had a difficult life.
