The overall Comprehensive Social Security Assistance caseload dropped by 365 cases to 198,840 in April, down 0.2% from March, the Social Welfare Department announced today. The total number of recipients was 270,618.
Low-earnings cases registered a month-to-month decrease of 1.1% to 1,513. Unemployment cases fell 0.
4% to 16,879. Single parent cases dropped 0.2% to 20,148.
Both old age cases and permanent disability cases also dipped 0.2%, to 111,425 and 17,072 respectively. Meanwhile, ill-health cases remained steady at 27,862.
