Two cousins drown in Dinajpur Two minor cousins drowned in a pond at Birganj upazila in Dinajpur district on Monday afternoon. The deceased were identified as Limon, 3, son of Sahinur Islam, a resident of Miratungi Volasapara village under Mohanpur union in the upazila and Tahirul Islam, son of Dulal Islam, 3, of the same area. Locals said the children went to swim in a pond near their house in the afternoon.
At one point, they drowned in the water. Later, locals recovered their bodies from the pond around 5pm. Mujibur Rahman, officer in-charge of Birganj Police Station, said on information, police recovered the bodies and handed them over to their families as there were no allegations.
