This was first reported at around 6am. There were delays of up to 30 minutes on the tracks, with Greater Anglia and CrossCountry services among those affected.
The disruption took place on a number of lines, including Norwich/Ipswich/ Ely and Cambridge as well as Cambridge and London Liverpool Street. All lines reopened at arou.
