A Bolton resident has shared his concerns over ‘dangerous potholes’ which are like ‘bomb craters’ in Tonge Fold. The man said the state of Penrose Street is dangerous and is causing a problem for local businesses and is a danger to residents as an old man fell. He said he reported the potholes through the Fix my Street App three weeks ago on April 18 and the potholes were ignored by the council.
After contacting Cllr Nick Peel, the man said some repairs were done but says they are not up to standard and the road is still dangerous. He said: “These potholes were reported first three weeks to Highways via the ‘Fix My Street’ app. “As soon as a report is sent Bolton Council highways receive it immediately with pictures.
“There were two more follow up reports and again they would have received it immediately so there is no excuse as to why these dangerous potholes have been ignored. “Vehicles have been damaged, and I was told an old man fell in one of them.
