Three people have been arrested following reports of a stabbing in Heneage Road, Grimsby, on Saturday (June 15). Police were called at around 6.50pm to assist emergency services after reports a 35-year-old man had sustained stab wounds .

He was taken to hospital to receive medical treatment for serious injuries to his back and remains in hospital where he is said to be stable at this time. Detective Inspector Steve Antrobus said: “I’d like to reassure the local community that since we received the report, I have had a team of detectives conducting extensive lines of enquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident. As part of this, we have since arrested three people, aged 35, 56 and 20 on suspicion of assault.

While we are in the early stages of our investigation, from enquiries conducted so far, we do believe this to be an incident involving individuals known to each other with no wider risk to the public. “Teams continue to be visible in the area providing additional reassurance to residents.
